Company History

In 2004, Ron Thomson joined with Stuart Gray to form Thomson Gray , a construction cost consultancy providing core and specialist services to the property and construction industry through a wide range of skills and disciplines which have been brought together within the new company.

Ron was formerly managing partner in Gardiner & Theobald’s Edinburgh office, and was instrumental in the growth and development of that practice in the East of Scotland over a number of years, being at the forefront of their involvement in PFI / PPP, Facilities Management and Property Tax. Stuart Gray was associate partner in Gardiner & Theobald, responsible for their involvement on a wide range of projects, particularly the hotel and leisure sector, further education, and the private residential market.

Since its inception the practice has expanded significantly and now operates a strategic alliance with established cost consultants Allan & Hanel (Glasgow) and Baxter Dunn & Gray (Aberdeen and Wick). This allows us to provide extensive geographical coverage to clients, throughout Scotland, from five offices and with a staff complement of over 40 professional and technical staff
