Thomson Gray are pleased to announce their continued support for the Peebles Hogmanay Torchlight Procession. In its second year and despite serious flooding the day before of a large section of the procession route, there were hundreds of people who turned out to brave the soggy conditions creating a magical atmosphere through the town and along the banks of the Tweed.
Hopefully this year the weather will be kinder and we wish them every success with what the organisers hope will be a new tradition for this beautiful Borders town.
Details of this charity event are below with a link to organisers, Hillside Outside, website for further information.
Peebles Hogmanay Torchlight Procession 2016
After a successful first year in 2015, the Peebles Hogmanay Torchlight Procession is back again this New Year’s Eve. Join hundreds of others in a beautiful procession of fire through the centre of Peebles, starting and finishing on Peebles High Street. There will also be food and drink stalls if you fancy a bite to eat or a warm drink. Finish the year with a new tradition and carry a torch for charity – proceeds go to local charities.
Saturday 31 December 2016, 6pm – 7:30pm approximately. The procession will depart at approx. 6.30pm from Peebles High Street, and walk a route through Peebles. Assemble from 5:45pm, and torches will be lit shortly before the procession begins.
Vouchers for torches can be bought in advance online (£9), then exchanged for the torch before the procession sets off. Torches can be collected from approx.3pm-6pm on Saturday 31 December, from Peebles High Street (near the Burgh Hall).
