Silecroft Beach Café

22/02/23

Thomson Gray is providing project management and quantity surveying services for a new beach café at Silecroft in the southwest corner of the Lake District National Park.

The project is part of the Connecting Cumbria’s Hidden Coast Programme led by Copeland Council and funded by the Coastal Communities Fund and Sellafield Ltd.

The new building designed by Konishi Gaffney Architects will have spectacular views across the Irish Sea towards the Isle of Man, space for 30 diners, an external shower for beach users, and a Changing Places disabled toilet and changing facility.

Turner Prize winning artist Martin Boyce has designed the metal security shutters for the café as part of Deep Time – the arts programme of the Connecting Cumbria’s Hidden Coast project.
