Charity bike ride at Chapelton, Aberdeenshire

04/10/23

Thomson Gray were happy to be one of the sponsors of the recent charity bike ride at Chapelton, Aberdeenshire.

The annual event raised over £6,000 for North East Sensory Services (NESS) who are the leading provider of fully integrated joint sensory services in Scotland: delivering support to people who are deaf or hard of hearing as well as those who were sight impaired or severely sight impaired.

We have been working with Elsick Development Company for over 11 years to help develop the new town, ensuring it is consistent with the original masterplan of 4,045 houses, along with all associated uses, such as shops, offices, parks and schools. Longer-term, the site will accommodate up to 8,000 houses within seven neighbourhoods. The masterplan encourages pedestrian activity and lessen car dependence, with shops, jobs, and schools within walking distance of all residences.

The local community has been involved in every step of the design process including stakeholder reviews, a design studio open house and public consultation events. Our team are providing strategic cost advice on the core infrastructure, residential development, procurement and construction at each stage.
