Leith Community Croft opens

19/09/23

We are delighted that the Leith Community Croft has officially opened.

Thomson Gray provided cost consultancy services for the charity Earth in Common to create a new community hub. We worked with Simpson & Brown, Harley Haddow and Narro to transform a dilapidated former tennis pavilion at the corner of Leith Links into a new café, farm shop, space for a food market and nature play area for children.

The early 20th century pavilion has been refurbished and extended to accommodate a café, farm shop, community and skills training space designed to open directly to the croft. The new extension has a sedum roof to attenuate rainwater and help maintain the site’s biodiversity.

Leith Community Croft a community growing project in Edinburgh's Leith Links. Pavilion and urban edible garden. Single storey building with tiled roof and contemporary extension. Picnic tables and benches with visitors.
