It was recently reported in the press that The Scottish Government awarded almost £1M to communities in Falkirk to regenerate the area around Lock 16 on the Union Canal through the Regeneration Capital Grant Fund (RCGF).

Led by Scottish Canals, the former Irn Bru Bottling Plant will be re-developed to form a new Canalside Community Hub with a vibrant canal-based skills and training centre. Thomson Gray will be providing Quantity Surveying and Principal Designer Services for this project.

Scottish Canals have been investing in the canal network from The Falkirk Wheel to The Kelpies over recent years and this project is an important hub for the network.

More information on the Lock 16 regeneration project can be found on the Scottish Canals Website.

We are pleased to continue our work with them and on this increasingly popular area for visitors.
