Milestone for Lochaber Hospital project

25/03/26

A major milestone has been reached for the new Lochaber Hospital, with the formal planning application now submitted.

This marks an important step toward delivering a state-of-the-art healthcare facility for Fort William and the wider Lochaber community.

Designed to replace the 60-year-old Belford Hospital, the new development will provide modern, sustainable and future-proofed clinical spaces. The project aims to enhance patient experience, support clinical efficiency, and meet the region’s future healthcare needs.

The new rural general hospital, which forms part of a wider programme to redesign and strengthen local health services, will feature an Emergency Department, operating theatres, inpatient beds including a maternity unit, an infusion suite, outpatient department and diagnostics facilities.

Thomson Gray are proud to be undertaking the role of Lead Advisor incorporating NEC Project Management, NEC Supervisor, Cost Advisor and CDM Advisor on this project.
