Upgrading and refurbishing the care home to modern standards means residents now have a higher quality of living in modernised, comfortable rooms.
Scottish Borders Council commissioned this project to refurbish and upgrade the existing care home in alignment with modern standards.
While staying at Waverley, residents work with occupational and physiotherapists who support them towards the goal of independent living.
Modernised, comfortable surroundings greatly improve resident’s abilities and confidence to work towards living on their own
What was involved
Thomson Gray provided full pre and post contract quantity surveying services from feasibility through to completion on this project including a comprehensive set of Tender documentation which was split into phases for budgetary purposes.
On completion, Waverley Care Home met industry standards. The upgrade and refurbishment means that the care home can now provide long stay care for up to ten residents. In addition, a new transitional care facility has been created, offering care for sixteen residents.
Feedback of the new and improved accommodation from staff, residents and their families has been very positive.
