The grade B listed Hepburn Doocot in Athelstaneford has reopened following restoration. Scotland’s national flag heritage centre was built by George Hepburn and is one of the earliest surviving Scottish examples from the 16th century. The Doocot has a pathway with an interpretive timeline telling the history and adoption from 834AD to the present, and engraved paving around the saltire memorial. Thomson Gray provided quantity surveyor services for the renovation, which involved extensive exterior repairs using traditional techniques by specialists.
