NHS Health Scotland relocation to Glasgow city centre
Project Details
Following the implementation of a Strategic Accommodation Review of existing NHS properties, NHS Health Scotland relocated to floors 5 and 6 of Meridian Court, on the edge of Glasgow’s city centre. Contractors were required to provide modern, flexible working space with open plan offices, cellular offices, formal and informal meeting rooms / areas, breakout spaces and welfare facilities.
The appointment of the successful contractor was administered through a NEC 3 contract after a competitive tender process
What was involved
The brief was to create a fully integrated and flexible working environment which fully supported the needs of the client and the workforce.
Innovative energy efficient technologies including free cooling chillers, heat recovery ventilation, daylight harvesting and energy efficient lighting were installed to ensure reduced ongoing running costs and carbon savings whilst enhancing thermal comfort.
Cutting edge solutions were deployed in the form of high quality bespoke manufactured joinery, state of the art IT / AV facilities together with the use of modern office furniture and finishes.
Thomson Gray provided Project Management, Cost Advisor and CDM services including specific advice on the use of NEC 3 and the procurement of a framework contractor for the project.
Project Outcomes
Delivered on time and within budget, this was a successful project delivering a superb new working environment
“Thomson Gray provided an invaluable service on these projects. They provided that little bit extra by being extremely approachable, knowledgeable and fun to work with from start to finish. Too often building procurement is fraught with conflict. Not with Thomson Gray”
