An extensive internal refurbishment across two floors of existing CAT A office space has provided Ooni Pizza Ovens with 15,000 square feet of new staff accommodation and associated amenities in Edinburgh.
CAT A refurbishment and fit-out
The fit-out upgraded the facilities to ‘move in’ condition for the firm’s expanding staff team in the strategic location of South Gyle, which has national and international transport links nearby and is adjacent to Edinburgh’s tram line.
The refurbished ground and first-floor spaces provide accommodation for 150 people and comprise a large open-plan working area, dedicated breakout space, huddle and meeting room spaces, quiet rooms, executive office space and extensive staff welfare, cooking and eating facilities.
A bespoke joinery package helped to create a number of the breakout spaces and delineate the different working areas. Several single and four-person meeting pods were also installed to allow for flexible working and ease of collaboration among staff members and with external stakeholders.
Project management and cost advisor role
As project managers and cost consultants on the project, we were responsible for overall cost control, overseeing the design development stage, contractor procurement and on-site delivery. We provided strategic client reporting throughout the project, ensuring it was delivered on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction.
We also acted as principal designer, helping to plan and coordinate the health and safety aspects of the project while ensuring full compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
The project was delivered within a tight 12-week construction programme.
