The new haematology ward at the Western General Hospital has been completed. Thomson Gray provided lead advisor services incorporating NEC project manager, NEC supervisor, cost advisor and principal designer. The project comprised of the refurbishment of 2 floors, including an extension over the existing TCT unit, full strip out and installation of mechanical and electrical services and upgrading the existing roof structure to support new plant and air handling units. The project consists of 19 inpatient beds and 30 outpatient chairs, auxiliary, circulation, office, and administration spaces. The new centre includes several pieces of artwork by local artists and incorporates a theme of the 3 Forth Bridges within the interior design of the new centre.
